Flexi is the third installation in van Roosmalens’ current touring project, -Flying at a Slant - which is traveling with a core set of components to four venues around New Zealand. She is interested in the logistics of moving and how we inhabit our spaces; the tension between what is the minimal required to function effectively in the world and the compulsion to amass possessions. The temporary manner of construction and installation, and the range of media and their interaction with the site give a sense of assembling with disassembling in mind.

Van Roosmalen likes to expose the changes in architectural spaces and their uses: Flexi perforates the physical body of the building with viewing holes as well as providing more traditional types of art gestures to encourage a range of readings.
